EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Hello, all:
I found a few AKAI-format samples that I want to convert to .exs 
(http://www.hollowsun.com/soundsf.htm).

Now, it's my understanding that the EXS24 handles that conversion for 
me; however, it only seems to be set up for converting AKAI sample 
CDs (as opposed to individual instrument files).  I've placed the 
individual .akp files in the "Sampler Instruments" directory, to no 
avail.  

How do I get my EXS24 to recognize those individual .akp files?  I 
don't have to burn 'em all onto a CD, do I?
