Good points... I bet the profit margin on a $130 operating system on millions of PCs is better than the margin on thousands of Macs. This was Apple's fatal flaw when Microsoft took over the market. I know it's a risk, but Steve has an addiction to hardware -- his hardware -- because it looks so cool (even if it is less powerful). That's where the ego comes in. But, as you point out, they would want to protect their current investment in hardware development and keep a good thing going (stay in the black, not take such a risk). So... you are right. However, my point of ego is still valid. I love apple, but Steve can be very smug. Alas, this strays further and further from the focus of the EXS24. I still believe Emagic is innocent until proven guilty of the CC non-standardization. -Jer > From: Fernstudio <fernstudio@...> > Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2002 09:13:53 -0700 > To: exs-24 List <exs-users@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: RE: [exs] [GEN] Uniform CC for Logic's Instruments > >> From a business point of view, it does not make any sense since Apple sells > hardware.
