Initially I owned a RME DIGI96/8. Never had a problem with that card.
*Extremely* low latency (6ms at a time when 100ms was considered good).

After switching to a notebook I got the Hammerfall DSP card. Here I
can run at a latency of 1.5ms though I can't do many other things
at the same time. At 6ms the system is rock solid. The drivers are
very good. RME runs its own support forum under
news://news.x-networks.de/rme-audio.forum

Their developers are there answering questions almost immediately.

Meanwhile I do own quite a lot of hardware from RME and I have
yet to regret the first buy.

Last not least the RME stuff works on both Macs and PCs which might
be of interest in case you want to resell it some time.
