Hi Mike Sounds like you're going to have a pretty damn good setup. I can't answer all your q's, but here's a few suggestions: 1. Try the help that is installed with Logic 6, it does cover a fair amount. 2. I would assume that your mac will come with the dvdr drive installed on the ATA 66 bus, so I would install the additional drive as a slave (or swap them if you're getting something better that the stock model) on the ATA 100 bus. Put OSX on one drive and have all the audio stuff on the other drive (as usual). 3. Look for some testing data on the net about the 8 meg cache drives to see if it makes a lot of difference (then again they don't cost that much more and it can't be a bad thing really). 4. Maybe this has changed with v6 but in 5.5 my EXS performance is halved UNLESS I have 32 bit sample storage on and vsm disabled.
