Firewire is a different matter altogether. This device (theoretically) has many advantages, and I've heard a lot about it (so far so good). Keep tabs on this product. I am not saying that the brand MOTU 2408 sucks by any means. I just don't suggest it over other solutions. I'm sure the 2408 is as good as my VXPocket. Watch the reviews of the Firewire device for a solid response, but definitely don't generalize MOTU on a criticism of one device for ASIO. I may still test out the MOTU Firewire device before springing for the Hammerfall-laptop solution. -Jer > From: "Toranaga" <toranaga@...> > Reply-To: exs-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Thu, 15 Mar 2001 23:47:12 +0100 > To: <exs-users@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: Re: [exs] Re: Best Audio Card > > Hi, > I´m very interested (and sad) to hear about the MOTU issues, because I was > strongly considering their new Firewire interface for my laptop. > I saw most of the upcoming new solutions for laptops at Musikmesse, the MOTU > as well as the Hammerfall PCMCIA looked both very promising (not taking in > account any experiences with drivers, support and general experience with > the companies).
