Thank yo for the heads up. That's too bad that they don't support the
Windows community so well, as that's such a huge market. Not to mention, 8
analog i/o and 3 ADAT i/o is killer! I've heard good things about the Echo
products, and the Echo Layla-24 (8 analog i/o, SPDIF i/o, 16/24 bit support)
works well under Windows 98 and ME including the ASIO2 drivers (and Win
2000, but I don't use that now since Logic doesn't work).. I like the
concept of MOTU Audio Wire and having up to 3 devices, of which there are a
lot of options to choose from. I almost thought about getting a Mac G4, but
I have been a Windows user for years and know the OS in and out. Plus, it's
easy to build/upgrade intel machines and usually is not that expensive. My
only problem is I have one machine that is PIII/650 using ASUS VIA
motherboard, and an AMD Athlon 1Ghz using ASUS A7V motherboard with VIA
chipset. I have all the latest patches and bios for these motherboards, but
some have said the VIA stinks. Others said the VIA is good now, but it did
suck when it first came out. My AMD 1Ghz has Ultra ATA-100 hard drive
controllers and I have a 20GB 7200 RPM for the system, and a 30GB 7200 RPM
for audio/storage. I'd hate to get the wrong audio card and find out the
manufacturer isn't supporting Windows too well.. Anyway, thank you so much
for the heads up!
Regards,
Mark
