Conversion VirtuosoStrings

2003-09-28 by chrissimon_heidweiler

Hi,
I´ve got problems at the converted LargeString Esp of the Kirk Hunter
Virtuoso Strings: At some notes, you hear 2 different pitched sounds and
"clicks"… I´ve converted with the internal EXS Converter…

Does CDExtract "manipulate" the sound?
Anyone help??

Best

Well, I don't know if the Akai version is anything like the E-mu
version of this library. I've got the E-mu version and converted it
using Translator. I've found that the exs converter at times gets the
loop points incorrect and those are the clicks that you hear. This
used to happen with earlier versions of both Translator and CDXtract
(although not as much as with the exs converter). The most recent
versions of both of those programs are much better.

As for the different pitches, I have no idea. Have you tried checking
to see if any of the zones are have their tuning adjusted? In regards
to clicks, if it is at the beginning of the sample, change the start
point of the sample by a few samples (start with a small number like 15
and go up from there). If it is in the loop, then the loop points are
messed up.
