Hi Josh,

I think what you need to do is put an I/O object on your different EXS
instruments. Assign the settings in the plugin window, then bypass the
plugin completely. This forces Logic to treat the EXS instances in a way
where they can all be accessed in real time through your mapped
instrument setup while Logic is playing.

This is a bit processor intensive, but (I think you are the same Josh
from the LUG with a new dual 1.25 G4) it forces them onto the alternate
processor, so it shouldn't "hurt" too much.

FTR, I also have Samplecell also and am still waiting for my daual 1.25
G4 that is on order. Thanks for your link to that site about the
alternate fans for the chassis that you posted in the LUG last week.

ok, so it seems like this I/O helper is the solution to everything
doesn't it??? Did they get rid of it and fix all the problems it
seems to help in 6.x???

I'll go try it now and report back.

Thanks man!!

Re: [EXS] EXS enviro questions.

NOPE! That didn't do it... Try this experiment:

1. create 2 audio instruments and load different EXS patches into
them.

2. create a basic "instrument" object, and cable it to both of the
audio instruments.

select this instrument in the arrange window and play notes...

I cannot get both audio instruments to play simultaneously using any
combination of I/O helper plug ins. Sometimes adding the plug in will
cause one of the audio instruments to begin playing, sometimes
removing it will make it play. It's totally LAME!!!

One thing I forgot to mention. You need to have Logic in play mode for
this to work. It won't work when Logic is stopped.....Same thing with
the mapped instrument scenario.
