What compability issues? Anyway, as a rule I'd say that a dedicated company
developing softsynths and soft samplers are more dedicated to the product
than a company with a soft sampler more as a fotnote to a host program. It's
not that much EXS24 has developed since it's initial release, compared to
Logic or Kontakt for that matter. (Not meaning to swear in the church here
but...)

Actually, as an owner of both, I can see where you are coming from.
However, Kontakt is not working very well on the mac side (OSX) mainly
due to DFD. NI takes their sweet time updating anything because of all
the products they have. I have had much better luck with EXS but agree
that it (especially the editor) needs an overhaul.

I've played with both the EXS demo and the Kontakt demo. I'm not
gonna go into depth about their functionality, but in general, I like
how I can use key commands in the EXS (although I wish Emagic offered
more assignable commands for the EXS) and I like that I can use a
common sample editor in Logic for audio tracks and EXS samples.

Even though Emagic recently enhanced modulation in the EXS, there are
still glaring improvements they could make (like the ability to use
the graphic display and midi in the instrument editor to assign key
ranges/velocity ranges, a sidebar directory for dragging and dropping
samples (like in Kontakt).

I like the flexibility of Kontakt (although, I could get by fine with
the modulation setup in the EXS), but I hate having to use the mouse
for everything, and on the two machines I have, it seems like there's
a lag time when I select a function from a menu, very annoying.

Again, I'm leaning towards the EXS, even though its features set is
very dated compared to other products on the market, and could be
improved greatly with a few important/much needed updates.
