Changing Same Parameter In All Zones

Changing Same Parameter In All Zones

2003-11-22 by Ned Bouhalassa

Hello group,

I'm on Panther + Logic 6.3.2. I'm trying to change the same parameter,
One Shot, on all Zones with one keystroke, but I can't seem to do it. I
remember that in OS 9, if you changed a setting in one zone while
keeping a combination of keys down, all zones would be affected the
same way. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Ned

On OS9 the key to hold is Option, and the trick only works with
checkboxes and not with other parameters. Is that any different in
Panther?

Hello Hendrik,

Yeah, that works in OS 9 but not in X, as far as I can tell (Panther)...

One more 'benefit' of X.

Wow, that really sucks... The instrument editor's interface already
is pretty lame, but if the last convenient keyboard shortcut is
stolen from us... So if you need 60 one-shot drum zones, you have to
open/click all zones one by one? Man... am I glad I'm still on OS9...

huh? i'm sure i used that facility already in x, maybe not in panther yet though. time
to doublecheck - major bummer if true.

and yes, the interface in x is lame - i used to be able to hide the exs but now i have
to click it away to see the editor underneath.

Hi Ned,

I'm working in OS9 right now so I can't check this, but....

Try doing a multiple selection by using <select all> or
shift-clicking, then <Option>-click to do the change.
I remember this worked to some degree in the EXS24 editor, but may
not be successful for all functions.

Regards - Colin

Colin! You rock, my friend, big time!

Absolutely right on: select all zones + shift-click.

Sorry for wasting bandwidth, friends...
