Programs with split velocity; merge possible?

Programs with split velocity; merge possible?

2004-01-17 by Andrew Tokuda

I hope I can explain this correctly. I have Akai 1000 CD-ROMs that have different
programs for different velocities of the same instrument. For instance, I have "Piano
Soft" with sounds mapped to Velocity values 0-90 and "Piano Loud" with sounds
mapped to Velocity values 91-127. Is there a way I can merge these two programs
into one in EXS24? Is there a workaround?

Thanks.

looks like I found what I needed on the Logic FAQ page, under Emagic plug-ins.

"18.14 EXS: How do you merge different instruments into one in the EXS?

- Open two EXS instances.
- Open your source instrument in one and the target instrument in the other one,
press "Edit" for both of them.
- In the source instrument, do a "Select all" (Command [Ctrl] A), and "Copy"
(Command [Ctrl] C)
- In the target instrument, do a "Paste (Command [Ctrl] V).
- Finally do a "Save as" for the target instrument and give it a new name.
- Done, even your source patch's group settings and groups will be copied over."

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
