Scanning instruments......scanning intruments.......scanning instruments.....

Scanning instruments......scanning intruments.......scanning instruments.....

2001-04-24 by Jos Jansen - Big Orange Music

Hi,

wouldn't it be nice if the EXS only scanned the 'sampler instrumenst folder'
at Logic startup. I think I loose about 1 hour of time every day by waiting
for the exs to scan all my instrumenst (yes, I have 20Gig of samples and
programmes, and it will only become more).

Even when I switch from sounddiver (wich is emagic software) to logic, when
I touch the exs again I have to wait several minutes, and I don't think this
is necesarry.

Does anybody have the same problem?????

btw, I LOVE the exs for it's other features!

bye,

Jos

i have about 6 gig of samples and it took around 6 mins to load
each time until i discovered a corrupted/duplicated instrument,
now it takes around 20 secs. have a search through all your
instruments to check for duplicates....worked for me

I got the same problem.

I made a shortcut of my sampler instruments folder and place all
exsinstruments in it in subfolders.
When I choose a new instrument, the exs seems to scan the hole drive, which
is ridiculous, because the samples are placed in the same folder as the
exs-file.

Second thing is:
If there are duplicates on the harddrive, the exs ask everytime, if i want
to use the samples of location 1 or 2 or 3 ect.
When the samples are located in the same folder as the instrumentfile, I
want to use these samples of course.

Unkas

yep, it USUALLY asks me that too, but in the case of the
corrupted instrument it didnt......btw, it was an instrument from
the emagic instruments provided with the exs which was
corrupted
