You know, I cringe when I read posts like this. Sure you should have
received your product by now, and of course it looks like there's
something flaky with the order fulfillment process.

But posting what you posted can be really damaging, and it's not
constructive - even if (worst case) the lib isn't in stock yet. I'm
not taking sides, by the way, just saying that this is inappropriate.

As someone who has a side business that deals with mail orders (a
publishing company), I can tell you that this kind of thing happens
once in a while - and I'm not dishonest, deceitful, having business
problems, or anything else. Credit card issues and extra receipts
that our order fulfillment company can't deal with are always a pain
in the rear, since I have other things to do. Shipments really do get
lost in the mail - it happens a few times every year. You ask someone
to ship an order and somehow it doesn't happen for whatever reason.

Anyway, I think there are a lot of plausible explanations short of
Donnie simply trying to steal your money.

Dear Nick,

You are absolutely right. But I think you are reading your own
experience into mine. They are mutually exclusive.
I am/have been on both sides too. If DS soundware hadn't been
advertising on this list I would have never sent the post. If I hadn't
had several back and fourth communications with DS SOundware I would
not have finally posted. He/they have had ample opportunity to make
good on the order or even let me know there would be a problem. Each
time they acknowledged my order, gave me their reason for not sending
it, told me the sounds were now on there way and then nothing. I didn't
pursue this companies business, they pursued mine/ours. There is a
responsibility that goes with that. I am sure they must be having
problems, otherwise why not just send out the sounds and be done with
it. No one is saying DS SOundare is trying to steal anyone's money. I
am saying he has been dishonest with me, and didn't deliver on his
promise. I thought everyone should know that before ordering and having
a similar experience. If you are going to use a free service to SELL a
product the least you can do is do what you say. No?

Ok here is the scoop...

First I do (and have) apologized to Gary for the delay in recieving his product. It has
always been our goal to provide fast prompt service. However several issues have arisen
that majorly delayed our service in this case non of which were Gary's problem but ours.

My only regret to this situation is that I offered to not only refund Gary's money but also
still ship him the product free of charge to account for the bad experience. I really wish he
hadn't taken this public but again, this was my fault in the first place.

I've been out of the town the past week and that has delayed me refunding the card which
I will do on Monday. Again, this is no way accounts for the way DS Soundware does
business and has done business succesfully for the past five years.

My apologies to all involved.

Just my 2 cents…
I’m not in any way related to Donnie other than being in the same
business and maybe therefore being competitors.
I don’t know anything about what’s been said and not in this matter
other then has been said here.

Donnie has been around about the same time as I have and have from day
1, as far as I have seen, made great samples and always provided with
excellent customer service. I’ve been active in the same forums and mail
lists as Donnie for a long time and I have never read anything that
could imply that DS Soundware hasn’t delivered what they have sold.
