EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I didn't see any archived messages on Sonic Implants !
They are coming out with the full orchestra by summer 05.
I am looking for opinions on the ease, playable-ness, keyswitching and 
especially the sound quality 0ut-of-the-box for expressive, non-beats oriented 
film tracks.

I noticed VSL Horizon lacks a solo violin and solo flute 1 - well then  you have 
to buy additional 500$ string library.

East wEst seems to be limited for the types of reverb and the mic-spacing is 
fixed ; how can this be used with space designer in Logic 7 (which i don't 
have either yet....)

Hi Lynne

While I like a lot of the EWQLSO Gold Instruments, many of them are IMO too ambient, 
which I find restricts there useage considerably. Having them drier would allow the use of 
space designer, altiverb etc to tailor them  to whatever ambience would be appropriate to 
the song. as it is, some of them are so far back in the room, additional reverb is the last 
thing I think they could benefit from....

EW has reverb. It has the hall ambience. It is wet. The sounds are
sampled with the reflections of the sound in the hall. It won't go away.

So...you are limited.

OTOH the sounds work great in a mix if what you want is the sound of an 
orchestra playing in a hall. Great.

I found some of it a bit limited though, you don't have the consistency 
of the same articulations and dynamics across all instruments (Gold 
version)so I got VSL also.
