need my old akai floppies loaded into EXS !!

Hi everyone Even though I have just become the proud owner of a rev.B dual2 G5, and have been carefully copying my EXS library over from my G4, I feel I don't want to discard my oldest sample library of all... which consists of a shoebox full of 3 1/2" floppies from akai S1000/S3000 days. I think of the long nights spent in studios, in the early 90's, carefully editing and arranging each waveform, having often recorded the sound myself first.... and realise there are probably some real gems in there, even if the bandwidth was a bit limited.. so my question is... do any of you know if it possible to read such floppies directly into EXS24 using a USB floppy drive on my G5 ? If I could just load the samples in I would be happy, but sometimes the bank info would be useful too, because of tuning data etc... I see such floppy drives for sale for about £25 now, and suspect i will find even cheaper ones around. any tips would be very welcome. If I find anything outstanding on these disks, i may post something to the files list for you all ! What would prob. be much more interesting to some of you , is that sometime soon-ish, i intend to make some EXS multisamples of my trusty old OCTAVE CAT mono synth, which has real old school analogue character , i will certainly post some of that to the files list, when I find the time, hopefully soon... anyway, thanks to you all for all your tips and info over the last few years, I have been lurking quietly here for quite some time, while my G4/350 slowly fell apart, but now.... It's time to get busy :-) peace Pete High-Flight-Foundation
