EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Hi there. I'm running logic 6.3.1 on os9.2 and I have a problem with exs24 where with 
certain sampler instruments the exs cant find the corresponding audio files, even 
though all the files it needs are present in the exsamples folder on my powerbook 
int.hd. 

Does anyone know how to direct the exs to look for these files?Have tried everything i 
can think of.

If the EXS loads an .exs file, and the paths are incorrect (meaning there 
is no file with that name in the path that the .exs file stipulates), the 
EXS will starting looking through whole drives to find the file.

You can generally tell the EXS where to look under Options - it will look 
in either Local Volumes or External Volumes. I believe (not sure) that the 
EXS will look through the whole drive of the incorrect path (if the drive 
exists) regardless of what the options say.

So if the EXS does not find your sample, it may be because your Options are 
set correctly to fine the file. Or it could be that the file name really 
doesn't exist; for example, if the .exs file needs to find "brass 1.aif" 
and the file is called "brass1.aif" it's going to miss it. It's got to be 
exact, case insensitive.

Hi, i sorted problem out by running project manager and scanning folders where the 
samples were located. I then used the find unresolved file paths function to find the 
samples and repair the faulty paths. I now have every sample working again.

That's the way....
If you have very large libraries like Vienna Symphonic, you should 
look at EXSmanager. It does the re-linking about 100 times faster 
than Project Manager (not kidding).
