Replacing Sample Loses Loop Points!? ughhhh...

When loading the patch back up, not only were the samples not found (because they were renamed) but once re-loaded into the EXS editor, all of my loop points were gone! Hours of work, down the drain. Is there a way to replace a sample without losing the loop points?
