Conga Samples

Message posted by Shan Cassim <shancassim@...>:

I've recorded some conga samples at my friends house and I want to load them
onto the EXS sampler. I loaded up the EXS sampler, clicked on edit went to
new instrument and created my instrument and then went to new zone. I kept
repeating this and I then loaded up my conga samples. Unfortunately they
are not playing back. Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

You need to save the EXS instrument you created, and load it into the EXS, via the drop-down
menu. You also want to make sure the conga samples loaded into each zone are set to
oneshot, so that they play through when they are triggered.

That method seemed to work. I have a new problem. When I finish loading up
my samples I saved the instrument. I then saved the whole file as a Logic
song file and quit. When I reopen the file and go into edit function and
open my conga samples they don't trigger the conga samples but this horrible
noise. Any ideas why this might be the case?

Are you getting a sine wave type of 'noise' or is it a nasty digital distortion? If it's the sine
wave thing, that means the samples did not load.

Yep, I think so. reply is a bit late but you need to save this as an
exs instr. close the editor and select it from the instr list. I had
this problem until I did this because it is usually playing the last
selected instr.
