"Holes" in drum kits?

"Holes" in drum kits?

2007-05-17 by Marcin ZieliƄski

Message posted by Marcin Zieli\u0144ski <zielvis@...>:

Hello Everybody,

Please be so kind and tell me: are there gaps between the different parts of
drum kits in EXS-24? I mean - when I recently loaded one of the kits I found
that some of the keys do not sound while both the adjacent ones do. Is it
the way it should be or there's something wrong with my EXS?

Thanks in advance for any comments,

Marcin

Nothing's wrong with your EXS. It's just the way the samples have
been mapped in the sampler instrument. A lot of drum mappings are
like this - leaving some notes unassigned.

If you want to change it, you can easily go into the EXS Instrument
Editor and graphically drag the left or right boundaries of the zones
in question from right under the keyboard portion of the window, and
drag them out to lengthen them.

If you do this, they may or may not actually transpose in pitch when
triggered from the adjacent notes; depending on how you have your
zone parameters set.
