Three are required for this:
- Assign a key command to the EXS editor function "Shift selected zone(s)
right/left (inc. root key)". Personally I'm using Shift and the arrow keys
for that.
- In the EXS editor, select the appropriate group, do an "Edit > Select
zones pointing to selected group(s)".
- Perform the above mentioned keycommand until everything is fine.

Works pretty well over here.

Sascha

Wow. I did not know this was possible (shifting zones). Thanks a million!

No problem... and here's one of my alltime favourite tips when it comes to
Logic in general:
Paste the list of keycommands into some text editor or into your favourite
writing program, print it out and put it to some place where you spend some
time but usually don't have anything *special* to do (do I hear a
"toilet"?). Read through them again and again and I'm sure you'll find some
amazing functions.

Sascha

Very good suggestions. I know exactly what you mean. There are a lot of
powerful, otherwise untapped, tools in Logic. Great Idea.

A useful but not exactly fun toilet read....:))

I've heard a few people talk about how Gigasample supports "3D" instruments,
ie instruments with different articulations.. And a few people had said they
sure wished EXS24 had support for multiple articulations... Wouldn't this be
the way to do it?

Or I guess maybe Gigasamplers way of doing this is a little more elegant?
I.e. if the notes are spread out over 10 octaves, in Logic Audio the midi
track controlling the instrument would look a bit odd.. I.e. if you just
wanted to have four notes in a row, two staccato and two legato or
something, even though the notes would be the same exact pitch just
different articulation, they would be spread apart on the staff.. multiple
octaves apart.

Nevermind, I guess I just answered my own question.. Good to know EXS can
"sort of" do multiple articulations though.

Bah sending this via Yahoo web page, I edited the message -and-
changed the subject -and- typed a message originally, none of which
show up in the message it actually posted.. I'll try this again:

In LAW at least (I dont have EXS yet) when I go into the key command
list it won't let me copy&paste it.. Select All selects nothing.. Can
you only do this in EXS or can you in Logic too? Maybe its only a Mac
thing? Or is there a special file you can open up that has the key
command list in it? I could 'print screen' each time I scrolled down
in the list and print out screenshots but there's got to be an easier
way :-)

Thanks,
Jeremy

It's up in the top/left menu. It's a special "copy list to clipboard" on a
Mac. Hopefully there's a comparable Windows command.
