bad MIDI timing...

...when using exs24, a couple of MIDI tracks and a two audio
tracks. This is on a G4 450 with 192mb RAM.

Can't seem to figure out why my physical MIDI intsruments suffer
DREADFUL MIDI timing, whereas is ESX24 has bang on?

Hope someone can help, sorry if this has been covered before...

The MacAV use could be the issue. It's very unpredictable with LA, and use
of VST instruments wasn't stabilized until I started using a real card. The
interim solution is to use the MacAV ASIO driver instead. If you e-mail me
directly, I can send you a copy of the driver. It works a lot better. I wish
I could give you more conclusive information, but use of OMS and MIDIman
gear is pretty dependable.

I'm using straight Mac AV (in leau of getting an AW8...), with a
MIDIman MidiSport 4x4 (via OMS).

Cheers,

Nick.

ps. it only occurs when I have audio tracks running as well(!?) -
just the EXS and MIDI is fine.

This is all very wierd.
I have the basic mac av setup too using motu fastlane midi box. Everything
is tight and reliable.
I have little understanding of all the problems people are encountering. I
really wish you all luck and hope mine stays tight.
Peace
Lee
