EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Dear list,

I'm trying to figure out how to use the EXS24 in a live setup, along with a Roland Octapad.
I'd like to start and stop loops, along with some single sounds. As far as I've tried, there is only the compromise between one shot OR loop. I'd need both of them combined, sort of.

The manual states: "The EXS offers all You'd  expect from a hardware sampler, ..." even my old e-64 can achieve what I'm trying to do.
Am I missing something or is there a workaround?

That is funny. I love the EXS24, but it lacks much of what my Ensoniq ASR-10
does.
