Hmmm. Same thing here. At first I thought that it might be an
extensions/control panels conflict with issue with Kaleidoscope or
Default Folder, so I ran with a minimal set of extensions/control
panels. Still had the problem.

The only solution I have found so far, and I haven't been at it long
enough to say this with assurance, is to create the number of Zones
that I need for an instrument first, and then add the data. Have no
idea why this would work, but it seems to.

I would also be interested in any feedback on this issue. I'll try
increasing the memory assigned to Logic and see what happens.

Mac 867(single processor), System 9.2.2, 1 gig memory, 450 meg
assigned to Logic Platinum 5.50.

Best regards-
Gary

I've got LAMP 5.5. (OS 9.2.2) and the same thing happened to me last night
- trying to load multiple samples into a new Instrument, I got the blank
screens. Had to quit and re-boot as it effected other windows and the
Mac...

Being a relative beginner to macs and logic, I'd
never even thought about RAM allocation (doh!). Last
night I went into the memory settings for logic, and
it was at (i think) roughly 100 Megs. I changed it to
around 200. Then I tried to find a way to assign more
to the EXS, but couldn't figure it out.
After that, I went ahead and created the largest
instruments (approx. 25 zones, 4 groups) I've made in
the exs without one crash! Like someone mentioned
before, I think it helps to create as many zones as
you think you'll need before assigning samples. And
save often!
Does anyone have any recommended RAM settings for
Logic? Also, is there a way to allocate specifically
to the EXS?

Thanks for the responses,
Danny

I think that the EXS24 uses UNALLOCATED RAM. Of course, EMAGIC doesn't
tell us how RAM is really used and TECH SUPPORT at EMAGIC HAS NO CLUE.

So what's the word on the groupvine? What do you all think?
