Performance Issues: GOLD, windows ME, ASIO, ua-30

Performance Issues: GOLD, windows ME, ASIO, ua-30

2003-03-09 by lcnadolski

I am trying to get fully up and running in Logic, and am having data
processing problems (especially with the larger guitar and piano
instruments I bought from eastwest.) I am trying to narrow down what
exactly is causing this processing issue, so I can make a workaround
situation or fixes to the problem component(s).

Here's what I've got:
exs-24, LOGIC GOLD, windows ME, ASIO, rolandED, ua-30, 700MHZ,
386RAM.

I've met all the system requirements. (Are these system reqs. proven
to not be accurate?)

I get the message of ASIO failure -- Could not get data in time. I am
looking for insight into the root of the problem: issues with driver,
hardware, and minimum optimal system specs for a PC running this
setup. I would like to know more about how the general setting impact
the I/O and playback.

Does anyone out there have any experience with a similar setup (or
issue) ? Any insights are most welcomed!

 Thanks, leah

FROM README FILE
Disk I/O traffic:
Could not get data in time:
If the "Could not get data in time:" field shows a numerical value,
your disk is probably too slow-or-too much harddisk
playback/recording is going on. In this case, you may need to change
the "general settings".

Wow, can be lots of stuff.. what's your latency? Some BXmobo's have
USB issues.. ME is known for its memory leakage..

First try to lower the latency, put your winprefs on 'server'..

(damn, I'm making sense!)

Anyway, some more info can help. Motherboard, xx samples latency, HD's..

You can get tons of usefull stuff about this at the RME site

Good luck,

NM
