LFO's not working

LFO's not working

2003-06-19 by gedgrimes

Hi
This has got to be something so simple but cant seem to get the
simplest LFO going on say an electric piano sample. Does the LFO need
some kind of routing thro the mod matrix to be functional..?
Im sure I used to just twiddle in ESX Mk1 and we were fine.

To convert my Kurzweil CDs into EXS format, is CDXtract the best tool?

I apologize...I didn't read the thread thoroughly....for Kurzweil

Wow. I tried to convert a Boulder Sounds group from Kurzweil to EXS using Translator, and it put big thumps at the front of all the samples and ruined all their fadeups. Totally useless. Haven't tried CDXtract for it. I went back to just using my Kurzweil 2500. Inconvenient, but accurate.

Yeah...I've had some of that....but CDXtract wouldn't do it at all. I
wrote ChickenSys last week about it and Garth said that the latest
update fixes the problem.

And that's why I stick with Translator since its day 1, cause he does
his best to keep his promisses. But (and I ask this not to start a
CDXtract/Translator flame war, but rather to have more knowledge on the
subject) since James said his choice would be CDXtract (the product
which I know absolutely nothing about), what do I lose as a faithful
Translator user? Any ***objective*** feature list of dos and don'ts
with each of the 2? TIA.

Best,

Andy

Truthfully, with Garth's post that the Kurzweil thing is cleared up, it
becomes more an issue of which interface you like the best. I find getting
around CDXtract a little more easy and intuitive, but someone else may say
just the opposite. If you're happy with Translator, stay where you are. If
the uber programmer of Translator reads this list and responds with fixes,
you can't go wrong. Spend your money on a cool sample CD!
