(for example the filebrowser: only displays upper character ... good job ni. !) you will need a fast computer for kontakt, otherwise its reaction to your action (not musical) is a drag. the exs is my choice for playback of librarys and "bread and butter". buts its un-logic instrument editor is a mayor drawback when you want to take things further. the mapping is much better in kontakt than in the exs where its not graphical at all and a pita if you ask me. on the other hand, the exs is much "nicer" on your cpu. i'd say with the kombination of both you are very well prepared for anything... besides 5.1 where both are missing out on. hths, ulf.

Probably to surround sound import and playback. MOTU's upcoming Mach 5 will
do that.

Yes, you're right. But a few are coming really close (hint, hint: they're
both in the the subject header). Patience, my friend. How long did it take
Logic to become the sequencer it is today? Do you remember when loading
more than 612k of samples was a big deal? I do - we live in wonderful times
(for audio)...

I remember dreaming about the day that we could own something with 10th the power of what I have now. Did some great records with my SQD-1, and Poly 800, with a totally hopped up Linn... We really do live in wonderful times!!!!!!!! And while I totally agree on this, there's still no reason for N.I.s file browsers to be THAT lousy (come on, Battery doesn't even have a resizeable "open" dialog, which is an OS standard, at least on Windows, a requirement in case you're browsing large sample directories) and the EXS editor an file management to be even lousier (why in the world do I have to save EACH instrument in case I only want to use it in ONE single song, such as a vocal track that I'd like quickly slap onto some EXS keys? The EXS is the ONLY softsampler requiring such a nonsense). IMHO this is simply ignorant behaviour. The EXS editor has been something that people were complaing about since the day it appeared, yet it has seen close to no improvements, not even with Logic 6. Pretty much a dissapointment, if you ask me. Still the easiest to handle general UI, still the lousiest editor. Regards, Sascha

Still No true multitimbral capability. This is the real ignorqant behaviour. People also complained about this since the beginning. Halion, Kontakt, Sample Tank and BELIEVE IT OR NOT EXSP24 has this feature. You can save multis in most of those samplers. ___________________ Yavuz AKYAZICI Guitar Player http://yavuz.dhs.org ____________________ Logic Setup ____________________ Powerbook G4 1Ghz, 1G RAM MOTU 896 Logic Control MIDIMAN USB 2X2 Logic Platinum EXS24 EVB3 EVP88 EVD6 Kontakt Sample Tank XL PSP 84 & 42 CDXtracxt
