OK, when the Poly goes directly into sequencer edit mode it usually indicates a problem with the chip select Y4 signal getting through to the 3-11A signal.

Have you opened up the Poly and had a look to see if there is any sign of brown sludge that might have come from old batteries in the battery compartment?

When you first turn the Poly-800 on, with sequencer disabled, the display should say 11 .P (only two sets of digits). The only time you should see three sets

Hello Martin, Battery just had tabs. Functioning exactly the same as before I replaced it.

Hey Michael, Thanks so much for the response! I plugged in my 88 key MIDI controller, and every key (including accidentals) incremented the value by 1.
