The only difference is one capacitor location. Everything else, and I mean EVERYTHING, is the same from board 1.5 to 1.5b. Most people have not had issues with

if they re .001uf capacitors, they re likely for power supply decoupling. Therefore, find a ground, find the voltage supply and solder one leg of the capacitor

Yes, at the time that you had problems, I was also in the middle of a hideous series of bugs in the HAWK code. Those bugs went out in boot code 1.93 and 1.94.

You re right, the first two bits are used as the bank select for patch memory. The last one was used in previous versions of hardware to provide a RAM bank

I just needed to see which PCB version you have and if the ROM s are all in sockets, which they are. This means you can upgrade the 1.94 to 1.95 boot code
