I don¹t think its primitive people who seek supernatural power, the more
there is poverty and oppression the less there is education and the more
people a venerable to believe that somehow a supernatural power is the
answer, the more the extremists prevail and the more that ideologies are
brainwashed into the mind of these people, so it all goes back to economics,
north and south..., God has nothing to do with this, after all we all have
the same one "that is if you believe", as for me seeing all the evil and
injustice committed under the name of this power makes me Faithless....

I didn't mean to disparage anyone in particular. I thought this was a
well known fact. I still remember my first of college, and the
anthropology professor hinted he didn't believe in God, and when some
students tried to press him on it, he didn't want to say anything that
would get him in trouble, so he finally said something like "All
societies have a God or Gods to which they attribute unseen forces, and
random acts." When lightening strikes, or a storm or eclipse occurs,
these things were not understood. So that statement about the locusts
brought by the crusaders as being the cause of all the problems in the
middle east was just a bit hard to swallow....at least for me, but I
could be high as a kite as far as anyone knows. However, this was not any
personal attack/disparagement/etc on anyone. I better get off the
computer now - the wind is blowing - a sure sign that God must be angry.

Yes. That this is nothing whatever to do with 'primitive' is what I tried
to say. People believe all kinds of things. From the belief that flying
saucers will appear to save us all ... to the belief on the part of some
more fundamentalist US Christians that one day very soon an act of God will
strike down the federal government and that all they have to do to bring
this about is pray hard enough.
