gameport GP32

gameport GP32

2004-12-08 by Gus

Hello,

Version 1.3 or rowley arm IDE supports gameport GP32. I am curious
on what are the advantages of GP32 and are there any examples out
there on using the device. I didn't find any useful example in
rowley IDE and there is too much info online.

Can anyone direct me of a good website to start?

Thanks,

Gus

Gus,

I think Jon got an SDL port going on the GP32. He's got the display
running natively, I believe. It was just a pretty cheap ARM9 board.

Well, we have two GP32s, and Jon found some stuff on the web and cooked
things up.

The GP32 SDK isn't in the package as, IIRC, it's licensed (although
freely available).

Paul,

Will you guys have some examples in the future?
Is GP32 SDK included now in 1.3? I mean is it possible to call some
GP32 APIs?
Where did you guys learn about GP32? I can't find any usefull
website about it!

I think it is really cool as a fun project.

Gus

Re: gameport GP32

Gus,

There is an example shipped with 1.3 for GP32 (it demonstrates
writing to the LCD). You can load it from the Welcome help page by
clicking "example programs" followed by "GamePark GP32 Samples".

We haven't included the GP32 SDK as I believe it's licensed and not
available in source form. There is an SDL port for the GP32 (at
http://sdl-gp32.sourceforge.net/) which I'm considering using.

There is a very informative web site at http://darkfader.net/gp32/
which describes (among many other things) how to wire up a JTAG
interface to the GP32.

Regards,

Jon Elliott
