Hi,

What is the best M6 editor depends on what else is in
your studio and what you plan on doing.

What kind of computer and OS are you planning to use?

You might be able to pic up an old Mac or PC super
cheap and find some old editing software like Edit One
(my current set-up).

I have seen some free stuff here and there from time
to time. There is even a Java based universal editor
if you are savvy enough to set it up and learn how it
works.

Another point to consider is if you have other Synths
that you want to work with. You might want one program
that handles all of your Synths, but if you only want
to create patches for the M6 you probably want a
smaller less expensive program.

At the moment I am collaborating on a project to build
a simple Cocoa based patch editor/librarian for the M6
to run on Mac 10.3 or later. I can't tell you when it
will be ready because we are doing this in our spare
time, but we are making progress. We hope to have the
first bits of it running this Sunday. I plan to make
it available for testing and evaluation in the future
if there is enough interest.

Hi Balint,
Unfortunatly I don't have specific knowlege to answear
your question.

"i have download Matrixed for m 1000 ,
> do you know , can i
> use this program for m6 ??"

Since you have the program there is no harm in trying
it out. You won't hurt any thing. I will consult with
my friend this weekend and see what else I can find
out.

In the meantime I can tell you that while the M1000
and the M6 are veary similar as far as their
architechture goes, the the SysEx commands are just
slightly slightly different. I have read that the M6
can be used to program the M1000 but I am not sure if
using a patch editor designed for the M1000 will work
on the M6. The two URLS below will take you to a site
where you can examin the SysEx for the M6 and M1000.

Re: Hello , i need good editor for my M6

Hi I wasn't able to find a definitive answer fro your question, however I did find that the
software I am using will edit both the M1000 and the M6. The main difference in the SysEx
messages seems to be the device code. Every thing else looks the same.

thanx
sounds good , cus i find editor "matrix 2001" , i realy like it , the user
inerface is damn good , but its a trial version ,after a month you must
register it for 10 $ , isnt problem a 10 $ , but im from Serbia and sending
a money from Serbia is complicated , here dont works Paypal , its like
sending a package from Mars to Earth ;-) , i have downloaded Matrixed , and
its free ...but just an editor for M1000 ....
but maybe that works with M6
so thanx again
