Matrix 6 keyboard tech question

Hello, just joined the list. I picked up a Matrix 6 for little cash last night. It sounds great, but every once in a while when I turn it on, the display shows a mess of characters that in no way respond to the patch/ parameter selected. The synth still works perfectly, but the display is just a mess. If I turn it off, and then on again, then display usually loads right back to normal. Anybody have this problem? Any suggestions for fixing it? I was thinking about replacing the back-up battery, but it writes and saves patches fine??? Thanx in advance. Tony
