M6r troubles

M6r troubles

2010-09-10 by atmospherics4@gmail.com

Hi guys
My M6r has voice #6 crapping out! Whenever this voice is triggered, it sounds
as if the patch is white noise with a sharp percusive attack. My other M6r doesn't have this problem and they're triggered as one instrument via my Lync LN4...this happens with all controllers.
Any way to disable voice six until I can get it repaired?
Thanks
Derrick

this sounds vague to me as I don't know about electronics...are you saying that if I were to open the M6r, that I would find a discreet chip labeled for each voice and that pulling out the bad chip would allow the machine to function as a five voice...M5r?

Try re-seating the chip or chips. IIRC many of them are socketed, so, CAREFULLY, unplug each one and, CAREFULLY, plug it back in (don't bend the legs)! I fixed mine, this way. If it doesn't work, then leave voice 6 out.
