Buying a new (and outdated) computer for a once-only operation seems
like a last resort option.

I see that the Windows version of eloader works over USB. My computer
at work has a USB port, so I'll try that. I'm not seeing any OS
requirement info - does eloader work under XP?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
