With this link you can download the programm to exchange sequences
between your PC and your XL7:
http://www.emu.com/support/files/storage/E-Loader_1.1_Install.zip
It includes the driver you`re asking for.

Please check this link to before you install the software:
http://www.emu.com/support/files/storage/E-LoaderOperationManual.pdf

Good luck!

I was wondering the same thing. I have E-Loader 1.1, which I
downloaded from E-MU, and I have E-Loader 1.0, which is on the
Manufactures CD. Both are intalled. The USB port on my XL-7 must
be broken. Everytime I plug it up to the computer, Windows says USB
Device Malfunction....The usb device has malfunctioned and Windows
does not recognize it...Click here. I click and it says no driver
has been installed for this device. So I try to intall it from the
E-Loader USB Diver folder and Windows says It Cannot
Continue...Windows cannot find a better driver than the software
already in use. So I click Driver Details and Windows says there is
no driver installed. I've looked in E-Loader 1.1 using Windows
Explorer and there is a driver file there. Any thoughts on what is
going on? Anyone else experianced this?

Thanks,
Brandon

RE: [xl7] Re: USB DRivers Help

2005-11-29 by Chris

The drivers are available at the emu site and come in the download
package of e-loader..

I am not using windows XP, but there have been people talking about the
need of having service pack 1 installed, or it will not work, but i
cannot confirm this (but i cannot decline it either)

Do you have SP1 installed?

cheers,
Chris

I'm not sure. Windows usually self updates. I'll make Windows
check for any updates right now.

Re: USB DRivers Help

2005-11-29 by zerolatencyproductions

It turns out that I didn't have it. It looks like it has something
to do with Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. I just installed that
yesterday. Its gonna take along time for the service pack to
download on my 56K. I'll let you know if it helps as soon as I can.

Later,
Brandon

Re: USB DRivers Help

Well, I got the service pack downloaded and installed. No change. I
guess the USB port of my XL-7 is bad. Maybe thats why the guy was
selling it on Ebay. It also freezes sometimes, mostly when I've
triggered a few arpeggios at once. Everything tests okay in the
diagnostics, though. Any Thoughts?

Thank you,
Brandon

P.S. Thomas, I was wondering if you were getting the same messeges
from Windows.

Re: USB DRivers Help

2005-11-30 by zerolatencyproductions

You know, I was wondering if it had something to do with USB2.0.
That's an interesting point you brought up. Funny how your USB
worked on you old system, but not your new one. All the USB cards
in my computer are 2.0. Anyone know if that's what's going on
here? Has anyone else experianced this perticular problem? Anyone
using their Command Station with USB2.0? I took apart my Command
Station about a month ago, and made sure all the soder points were
connected. I didn't see anything that looked loose or broken. Does
anyone know a way to test the USB port of our Command Stations?

Thanks,
Brandon

RE: [xl7] Re: USB DRivers Help

2005-11-30 by Chris

It works using both, USB1.1 and 2.0.

I have had troubles on my win2k machine after moving (i couldn't make
any more backups, because e-loader couldn't find my mp-7 anymore,
strangely, windows recognized it properly, and it did work before) but
when i connected it to a laptop (running win xp, sp1) i had no troubles
at all.

Now i do all my backups using the laptop and then simply transfer the
files to the w2k for backup.
