Nifflas music was the main reason I bought and expanded my XL-7. http://www.mp3.com.au/artist.asp?id=8978 He used to have his own website with more tunes, but not anymore or so it seems. There are a few remnants at web.archive.org though: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.nifflas.com (2002 column) There also were the CommandStation contest tracks at: http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/EmuCS/ Too bad IUMA is long gone... rebirthlost a écrit : > Is there a site dedicated to music made soley on these pieces??Or links > on this group to some music made soley on the Emu Mp-7 Or Xl-7?Any kind > of music.I just want hear what people are doing with these great pieces > of gear! Hey, Since E Loader does not support patch storage, only patterns, I have been trying to save the user bank presets using a MIDI Loop connection. I connect the same MIDI cable from MIDI OUT A to MIDI IN, and send the presets as a Sysex MIDI dump, while a pattern is in record mode. I want to save the presets on the same command station, without using other sequencer. I have tried this in multiple ways, changing the MIDI setup parameters. But I haven`t been able to do it. Is there any SYSEX message that you have to send fist, before sending the presets banks, in order to save the patches on a pattern????? This is for advance users.... Unfortunately, the XL-7 sequencer doesn't record sysex. It *will*, however, play back sysex. You could dump your presets to a computer sequencer (any free one will do), save as an SMF file, then use E-Loader to upload that file back to your Command Station. You can then play that pattern anytime you'd like to set up your patches. -Aaron

FOOTNOTE: If you ever want to embed sysex commands into a pattern for playback, the details of how to do it (with some samples) are in the Files section. It uses the same basic technique Aaron describes here, only with short sysex commands. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Aaron Eppolito <synthesis77@...> wrote: > > Unfortunately, the XL-7 sequencer doesn't record sysex. thanks a lot Aaron and Steve. I wonder if there are some sequencers that can receive those MIDI dumps throught the USB connection, since I don`t have the MIDI interface from my command station to my computer.
I have 2 command stations, I can save my presets from one to another one, but I have so much user presets, that I need to save them all.
thanks again.

If you're just trying to sync them up, you don't need to use the sequencer at all. Simply connect one to the other and send sysex for the banks. The target command station will replace its user presets with the ones you're sending. -Aaron --- Mauricio Balma <balmaproducer@...> wrote: > thanks a lot Aaron and Steve. So far as I know, nobody has written or released any software to specifically use the E-Mu usb port except E-Mu's E-Loader, which doesn't do presets. (And I haven't the foggiest idea of how to tap into the E-Mu usb drivers to give it a try. In fact, over the years I have never been able to get them to work on an XP computer!) I think you can pick up usb midi interfaces for $20-30, but I haven't priced them in a while. It sounds like backing up presets from one Command Station to the other is your best shot--as long as you don't accidentally over write important presets in the destination. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Mauricio Balma <balmaproducer@...> wrote:
