last night i tried for the first time the MIKE/ MIC in to do some env following...all i got was a really quiet signal, I thought that was strange because i did the same thing with my serge and it was really loud....so then i decided to put the output of the 261 into the mic in , and still it was really quiet i pressed the attenuation buttons but no change.....I am not sure if this is normal?
I am talking the mic in on the 227e

hm.... you used the xlr jack on the rear panel? you tried different settings
of the pre-amp gain (the button)? anything coming out the audio output?

261e out -> xlr input should probably come out kinda loud and distorted...
its a lot of gain...

i'm not sure what you mean by the "227e mike in" if not the rear XLR jack.
that is the only input. the two 1/8" jacks on the panel are parallel
OUTPUTS.
