I've just found that the handshake workaround is not in the dox on the
hyperlink:

The doc I have is an email sent from Ken Whitley to machines@...

It suggests the following

Send F0 44 00 00 70 10 70 31 F7

101 sends : F0 44 00 70 30 <data> F7

If the CZ is not on CH1 then both 7x's must be the same channel (ie x=ch).

I will put the whole doc online at the previous hyperlink - along with an
explanation - note that BOTH cables must be connected - to send the dump
request and then to recieve the dump - with MIDI ox this means setting up
TWO instances of the program - one to dump SYSx and one to recieve a manual
dump - the version of the program sending the DATA must have the DEVICE OUT
set to MPU401 etc - but the device in should not be selected - the one
picking up the data should be the other way around - that is - DEVICE IN
should be MPU401 and out not selected.

Hi,

I bought a Casio CZ-101. What a great synth! I really like the sound.
However, unfortunately I cannot send the patches I've made to computer. I'm
sure I have connected everything correctly. I'm using M-Audio Midisport
USB/MIDI-interface. I've tried the free Soundlib program. When I try to send
my patches to computer, the sending stops after a few patches and the Casio
displays something like "MIDI FULL ERROR" and switches to some patch.

I'm now wondering if there is something wrong with my CZ-101 or if it could
be that the Midisport interface is somehow incompatible with the Soundlib
program or something. I searched the archives and there was something that
Soundlib (or some other similar program) simply works with some Casio CZ's
and with some it doesn't.

Is there any freeware program that would let me do bulk dumps of patches
easily?

Please help if you know anything about this - I would greatly appreciate it.

Antti
