Be aware that some or most of the sounds you will hear were never before accomplished by any known programmer until now. I think this is only the tip of the iceberg and what the VZ sounds should sound like. This will finally breathe new life into your old VZ. Sounds you never heard before or since. This is only in sys ex files so download them and enjoy them while you can. Go to Files, go to VZ-Sounds and you will see CBsnds1 that's it! Another volume of sounds will be out sooner or later. Feedback would be appreciated. Enjoy.

Hi Clifton, would you please stop the double/tripple whatever postings! I guess we don't have that much VZ users, so please be patient... I hardly use sounds I haven't programmed myself, so trying out other persons sounds isn't having top priority for me... Still I think some ppl. are thankfull for a couple of new VZ patches... ...Summa On 29 Jan 2005 at 23:58, Clifton Bryant wrote: > > > Be aware that some or most of the sounds you will hear were never > before accomplished by any known programmer until now. Hello Casio VZ-programmers, hello Clifton, Clifton patches are very interesting. The voices mostly use complex variations of lines in int phase or ring modulation mode wich are used as the (ext.) phase other lines. A good starting point to inspect the voices is Voice A-3: MODELD VOICE. To see how effective the used algorithm is you can activate A ENV BIAS and set the Sensitivity to 99 in the effect menu 04 MOD WHEEL. Now you can control the amplitude of module 1 with the Mod Wheel. Drastic changes of the Sound can be heard. Switch to voice edit mode. Most of the modules are switched off but the modueles m2 and m3 are nevertheless active. If you change their waveform or detune them it shows how they have effect on other modules. I never thought that it would be possible to create a kind of filtered noise. Clifton found a way to do so. You can hear it in several of his wind, ocean, jet or flute patches. It's mainly based on sine waves. Even if you know the trick it is hard to tune the modules to avoid tonal aspects. Thank you for this, Clifton. Clifton, do you use any editing software? It seems so to me because the patches look so cleaned up. Ineffective parms often are initialized, envelopes don't use more steps than needed. Although all your patches are very interesting most of them aren't easy to use for me. Maybe they are too special. They don't follow my playing, I have to follow them. (I hope this is not a too german english). I am waiting for your next sysex file. m!cha --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "Clifton Bryant" <cliffe123@y...> wrote: > > Be aware that some or most of the sounds you will hear were never > before accomplished by any known programmer until now. Hi michaw, I like to take the time to generally thank you for the kind words:) Anyway all my sounds were programmed on a VZ-1 and I use no editing software what so ever. It's the love of what I love doing the most out of my VZ and had it for over 15 years. (Still working great including my RAM cards). It just comes to show you what you can do with a VZ-1 and what is it's limitations? Again, thank you for the comments of my sounds and hopefully I may come up with more sounds in the future. Maybe sooner:-D PS...I got one vz-1 and two vz-10m's --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "michaw57" <m.wende@t...> wrote: > > Hello Casio VZ-programmers, hello Clifton, > > Clifton patches are very interesting. I did this kind of modwheel fx on a few other sounds sofar, but that voicesound from you is very nice indeed. thanks again for the patches phono. --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "Clifton Bryant" <cliffe123@y...> wrote:

You have done some very masterful VZ programming. Thanks for sharing them. --Steve

Thanks very much:) I figured this this would be something different for a change and maybe more to come. I recently brought a new Fruity Loops Studio to go along with my VZ synths and I don't think I will ever retire them as I did with my drum machines lol. Well thanks again everyone;) --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, "steve_the_composer" <smw-mail@p...> wrote:

hi everyone forgive me, but i'm pretty ignorant about my second-hand vz-10m. i downloaded Cliff's sounds and tried to send them with a mac os X app called Sysex Librarian. it usually works fine on my other racks [mu100r, tx81z], but even after locating 'internal mem protect off', although sysex lib thinks it's sent the patches, they don't actually load on my vz. does anyone have any hints? i will try sending them from a sequencer, but i doubt there'll be any difference to the result.. thanks dominic p.s. anyone out there using motu software? does anyone have a midnam file so i can enter and view patch names on my vz instead of 'patch 1... 128'? casio only has a middev file in the devices folder, which seems to be generic for all possible casio synths... Are you getting an error message on the VZ-10m when you try to send the patches? If so, what is the exact wording of the message? (That may be a clue to the cause of the problem.) Also, can your software receive patches from the VZ-10m (manually or automatically). --Steve --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, dom@m... wrote: > hi everyone > > forgive me, but i'm pretty ignorant about my second-hand vz-10m. i > downloaded Cliff's sounds and tried to send them with a mac os X app > called Sysex Librarian. it usually works fine on my other racks > [mu100r, tx81z], but even after locating 'internal mem protect off', > although sysex lib thinks it's sent the patches, they don't actually > load on my vz. > > does anyone have any hints? i will try sending them from a sequencer,

This probably won't help but I also use Sysex Librarian and found it quite tricky. You have to make sure that you have the right voice/voice+ops etc. setting selected on the VZ and hit load on the VZ to get it waiting before hitting play on the Mac. Apologies if this is obvious (it took me a while :) Fritzi --- In CZsynth@yahoogroups.com, dom@m... wrote:

fritzi! what do you mean 'this won't help'? this is probably exactly what i needed to know! i don't have time to try it out, but i'm glad to hear there's more to test and that there is at least one other mac os x user out there using sysex lib. thanks! dominic
