Hi Ivan, I have never used a CY14, but I believe that it has dual triggers, one for the edge and one for the bow. As such, it can be set up similarly to the Yamaha PCY80S or 65S stereo cymbals with separate voice parameters for each trigger. Inputs 6 or 7 are the likely candidates, but it will work in any of inputs 1 through 8. In 9/10, only the bow will sound, since neither of them allows for a rim. Since Roland cymbals are manufactured to mate primarily with Roland modules, it may take some trigger/voice tweaking to get the CY14 working to your satisfaction, but it should come around. My little CY6 runs well through the DTXPU. STEREO, not Dual. Dual implies two piezos. I don't know what the CY14 is, but if it is like the pcy60s, it is stereo. Your AX14S is Dual. Picky, picky, picky....Scott --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "liberatusvirus <liberatusvirus@y...>" <liberatusvirus@y...> wrote: > Hi Ivan, > > I have never used a CY14, but I believe that it has dual triggers, > one for the edge and one for the bow. Scott, Absolutely right. The CY14 is stereo, not dual zone. Not even the various companies and stores are precise about the terminology. I've tried to keep the distinction in my posts, but I buckled under the pressure. Ed --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "hairytrigger <artifax@i...>" <artifax@i...> wrote: > STEREO, not Dual. Yeah. What's the deal with that? Most companies call them dual-zone, without making a clear distinction. They should get their act together, if at least so WE have a fighting chance of knowing what we want, and then getting what we want!!! As for your posts, You are a very generous, informative and helpful poster! Thanks! I think that part of the problem is that "stereo" is not really an accurate description of a piezo/switch pad. A stereo pad does not create a single soundfield from two point sources. "Dual" is clearly the better word for piezo/piezo and piezo/rim pads alike, but it's impracticable. Until the powers that be agree on terminology, we'll have to base our judgments on context or ask questions. So long as electronic drums remain a small niche in the music world, no one except the poor consumer has any incentive to promote clarity. So what else is new? The same problem has reared its ugly head elsewhere. Witness, for example, the indiscriminate use of Dolby Surround, Dolby 5.1, Dolby digital, Dolby digital surround, Dolby, etc., all to cover a single sonic phenomenon. In the early days, only those few who had the playback equipment were able to register a complaint, and they hardly mattered. --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "hairytrigger <artifax@i...>" <artifax@i...> wrote: > Yeah.
