I am trying to scan some 6 x 4.5 med. format (ETRSi) B&W negs on a Polaroid Sprintscan 120. Although the Sprintscan carrier holds 5 frames the Input - Frame Number in VueScan only allows 2 frames to be scanned. Is there a "workaround" to this problem.

My guess is that Vuescan expects 6x9 frame sizes for one reason or another. Maybe the 645 framesize is something you have to set manually in Vuescan for a Sprintscan 120 if the film carrier carries no code specific for 645. I am not familiar with the SS 120. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Ernst Try: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wide_Inkjet_Printers/ | Dinkla Grafische Techniek | | www.pigment-print.com | | ( unvollendet ) |

Thanks for your comments Ernst The SS120 carrier accepts 6 x 9, 6 x 7, 6 x 6 and 6 x 4.5 cm. and these are marked on the carrier. Before the carrier is inserted ito the SS120 Input - Mode - allows a choice of formats i.e. Medium Format, 35 mm. slide, 35 mm. film and APS film. As soon as the carrier is inserted this choice is no longer visible. The only frames available are 1 and 2 - as I said the carrier is marked to accept 5 frames at 6 x 4.5 cm. There doesn't seem any way of setting this in VueScan. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Ernst Dinkla <edinkla@...> wrote:

On the first menu page: below the frame number, frame offset number, entries there is the frame spacing? entry (Dutch version here so I do not know the exact term). If you set that on say 45-46-47 mm you should get the extra frame numbers. I get them. Then make sure the frame size on the next menu page corresponds to your 645 frame size, they can vary per camera so it is possible you need the custom size entry. If you have done that and more fine tuning you can save the total of settings with a specific name for the camera. -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Ernst Try: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wide_Inkjet_Printers/ | Dinkla Grafische Techniek | | www.pigment-print.com | | ( unvollendet ) |

Thanks Ernst, that did the trick. The spacing worked out as 49 mm. for my ETRSi, although this greater spacing didn't allow scanning of frame 5. The easiest way to scan this was to reverse the film strip an call it number 1. Ed also emailed me with a similar solution. --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Ernst Dinkla <edinkla@...> wrote:
