Martin,

When I was selenium toning darkroom prints, Mine never had a purple
cast. I know that if you leave the papers in the toner long enough, it
could go purple, but I only toned for the deeper black, and pulled the
prints before they started to turn.

Are most photographer's actually WANTING the purple look?

In a word yes! One of the tyrannys of quad tone inks is the lack of
flexible color options.

With Small gamut inks you can get any tone you want.

Don,

Without the lightfastness...and with metamerism. Check the posts on this
inkset for other opinions before you consider it...but it is one serious
option if you want Glossy/E-surface prints.

Robert, they appear to have greatly improved the metamerism with the SG
inkset. If you print to a nice neutral in daylight, the prints look just
a tad sepia in tungsten, but not much. It's a great improvement from the
magenta metamerism they used to have.

Jerry

But they ARE a dye inkset, so probably won't be as archival as one would like.

O Crap!

I'm not using the same paper I was using the first time I tried the
inks, so it may just be the paper. In any case I have the new set of VM
MIS inks and the CIS will be here tomorrow, so that's that!

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
