two sided paper

I am printing on the epson 2200. Does anyone know of a two sided paper that
is compatible with this printer? I tried one from HP that didn't work - the
inks smeared. Many thanks-

two sided paper

I am thinking of putting together a small run promo piece, maybe 30
cards or so. I am looking for a two sided paper. I can print them on a
2200 or a 1160 with the MIS FSN inks with the Cone driver.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Epson Double-sided Matte, if you want the weight.

Great White Imaging & Photo Paper (it is 37-lb --NOT the 24-lb version), 100
sheets for about $11)
Is EXCELLENT on every Epson I have used it on!! Try calling it glossy if
you want less ink going down, but experiment.

Eclipse Satine, and Aspen are 2 dual sided papers that give beautilful
prints, and don't cost an arm and a leg.

Re: [Digital BW] two sided paper

I'd second Jerry Olson's Eclipse suggestion. I got the 300 gsm at
InkJetGoodies.com and used the MIS VM Sepia-Neutral ink set on both
sides of it in an 1160 for my unfolded holiday cards, some of which I
mailed as postcards, apparently successfully.

I used Eclipse in preference to PhotoRag Duo because I heard from
others on this list that Eclipse was more durable. Crane's
Fluorescent White envelopes seemed to me a close enough match. I
prefer their A2, A6, or A7 square-flap announcement envelopes partly
because I think it's easier to print the return address on the
"square" flap.

I hope Steve, and any others who have used or plan promotional cards,
will post about their plans and experiences.

I have to second Jerry's' Eclipse Satin! I recently printed a calendar on
the 190gm weight paper and it came out beautiful, I really like the stuff.

If you're interested in economy, you might consider trying Duo Brite
Matte -- http://www.inkjetart.com/photo_papers/duo/index.html
I'm thinking about trying it myself for proofing. Can't beat the
price if it compares favorably to EEM.

Jo,

Epson's new "Ultra Smooth Fine Art" paper is two-sided, cotton paper that is
supposed to be the "True" archival matte paper. I have a beta box of it,
and it's close (but no cigar, in my view). You might see if you can get
some out of Epson.

I'll be doing more testing of this Epson "USFA" later. The batch I got was
too thin to appeal to large format or fine art types. It feels thin even
compared to EEM. It has not printed as smooth as EEM with the MIS inks
either, but I like the results much better than Smooth Fine Art or Museo.
Whether it can unseat Eclipse as my favorite cotton paper is questionable,
however.

Epson makes a two-sided paper that is very similar to EEM, but just
a bit lighter in weight. I believe it is actually a two sided
version of Heavyweight matte. I've used quite a lot of it for a
calendar and catalogue, it takes pigs quite well though needs a
slight boost in contrast to give the same punch as EEM.

Also, Mitsubishi, who coats papers for Epson, makes a two sided
paper that's similar, but whiter, that's also quite good.

Epson Double Sided Matte, though a little whiter. About the same price or
less.
