QTR and Tiger

2005-05-01 by Steve Kale

Has anyone tested QTR on Tiger? Green light or red? (Wanting to play with the new H.264
video conferencing but not wanting QTR to go down.... :-) )

Re: [Digital BW] QTR and Tiger

Steve,

I by no means know what I am doing yet on QTR as I have only just
brought an Epson 2100 and downloaded the RIP but I have Tiger (and
trust me spotlight is worth the price to pay!! This does truly feel
like an upgrade!) and I have tested QTR and on my 2100 through
photoshop it prints.

Hope this helps!

I upgraded my dual processor 867 G4 to Tiger. I had to reload QTR but no
problems with printing once that was done.

Well, I can't get QTR working with my 9600 and Tiger. Even after uninstalling QTR and re-
installing QTR, I end up with two QuadTone Rip choices in the final print dialog box.
Choosing the first results in nothing happening. I did an upgrade to Tiger, not a complete
fresh wipe of the drive.

I use a 2200 so it isn't directly comparable. I did an archive and
update installation of Tiger and the only thing that has been iffy so
far has been virtual pc.

I'm also getting two QTR choices in the driver dialog for Print (PS CS2) after upgrading to
Tiger from 10.3.9. This is for both my 2200 and 4000 printers. I removed and re-
installed QTR, but still two QTR items in the dialog. Printing is fine from either so not a
problem.

I'll give it another try. Thanks for your confirmation about the two QTR choices.

Re: [Digital BW] QTR and Tiger

2005-05-01 by Roy Harrington

From what I've seen to far the duplicate dialogs are the only glitch
with Tiger. There really is only one dialog plugin but Tiger is loading
it twice for some reason. It appears that they are processed sequentially
so the second one ends up taking precedence. If you save a Preset
(saves the 2nd one) when you come back in it gets loaded into both.

Just use the second one only and it works fine.

Re: [Digital BW] QTR and Tiger + slow image opening in CS

2005-05-02 by tariqgibranstudio

Thanks very much Roy. QTR is now working under Tiger. Nothing to do
with QTR, just me re-naming Quad9600 to something else thus no curves
showed. The Two dialogs are strange. I bet 10.4.1 fixes this.

Hope it also fixes the slow opening of small images in PHotoshop. For
instance, on my Dual G4 1.25 in CS, a 2.9MB image takes less than 1
sec. to open in 10.3.8 but takes 6 sec. to open in Tiger! CS 2 is
coming today so I'll see if that makes a difference.
