Free speech my friend is obviously something with which you do not agree.

What you do appear to subscribe to is the tyrany of the mob concept.

Shame on you sir for your less than democratic approach to life.

Now if you really wish to lower your blood pressure, may I recomend a twelve
week course of daily aerobic exercise , which, by the way, will also
increase the quantity of endorphine's in the brain and thus should improve
your feel-good factor.

If you have Microsoft Outlook you may do the following:
With Outlook open, from the menu choose "Tools" & then
"Rules Wizard"
& click "New",

Ensure that "Start creating a rule from a template" is
selected,

Highlight "Move new message from someone" & click
"next",

Under "Which condition(s) do you want to check?" make sure
"with
specific words in the message header" is selected,

In the lower window on this same screen click on "specific
words" in
the sentence stating "Apply this rule after the message arrives
with
specific words in the message header move it to the specified
folder",

Type in "Paul Aparycki" & click add,

Type in tawow@... & click add, then click "OK",

In the same lower window as before click on "specified" in
the
sentence stating "Apply this rule after the message arrives with
specific words in the message header move it to the specified
folder",

Choose the "Deleted Items" folder & click "OK", then
click "Next",

Click Next through two more windows, then click "Finish"

You should now have an active rule that will automatically place into
the deleted items folder any messages coming from this person either
directly or through the list. One less asshole in the world to deal
with. Please note that I did not say bad photographer, I said
asshole.

Problem solved!

As an extra bonus you can create a rule to deal with threads that you
do not want to weed through any longer. Just copy the subject line
into the rule and like magic, those emails also get deleted without
getting your blood pressure up. If you have different email software
you might try looking in help under "Email Rules" & see if
this might
be possible in your tool.

This really is related to Digital B&W Prints, really!!! I subscribe
to this list for information on this subject. Threads get off on
tirades that are hard to avoid. My blood pressure goes up. I go
yell at my neighbors dog. I am so upset I cannot capture images with
my pinhole, brownie, 35mm, 6x6, 4x5, 8x10, DLSR cameras.....or
to
make prints.

With this approach, ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

This has been a public service announcement. You may now resume your
regularly scheduled threads.

Re: [Digital BW] For Threads that go Off Topic - Now C886 BO with Epson innk.

2005-08-28 by Adam Maas

There's no restriction of Freedom of Speech there, one is not required
to listen, only to permit the speech to occur.

Killfiling is a very effective way to deal with the uncivil.

And to get this back on-topic, I seem to be one of the lucky ones for
whom BO works on the C86. Surpisingly, I've had the best results so far
with Kayenta and the Epson ink. It's noticably cooler than the warm
EEM/Epson ink combination, although the EEM is quite nice when it's not
sitting next to the Kayenta. Anyone else tried this combination?

Now to order some Eboni and try that.

Re: C886 BO with Epson innk.

Hello Adam,

>I seem to be one of the lucky ones for whom BO works on the C86.

That's good news. I'm wondering of some of the other ones might not
benefit from a head alignment.

>Surpisingly, I've had the best results so far with Kayenta and the

Yes, it's one of my favorites. Kayenta renders the pure carbon inks
much cooler than most other papers. If you want a real thrill, put
some Eboni in it and see what happens. There is a chart on my web
site that shows the ink color, paper color and dmax for 24 papers,
using Eboni BO. Kayenta ranks the coldest. It's article #5, "The
Great Paper Chase".

Regards,
Clayton

Have you tried Premier Matte? My memory is that it prints very cold. It's
also one of the cheapest acid free papers I know of and hits a solid 1.7
dmax. See http://www.photowarehouse.biz/premier.html

Re: [Digital BW] For Threads that go Off Topic - Now C886 BO with Epson innk.

2005-08-28 by Jordan Wosnick

I haven't tried it, but in the past I had very good results with BO
on the C86 using the Epson ink on EEM. After switching to the MIS
EZ inkset, I was dismayed to find that, to my eye, the prints were
no smoother or more detailed than the BO prints (I made a post
about this sometime in May) and the only difference to my eye was
the visibly warmer tone of the BO prints.

Strangely, now that I have the MIS EZ inks installed, the BO prints
on my C86 (with Eboni ink) show banding -- even after doing several
head alignments. It's a pity, because the BO technique was faster
and seemed to use much less ink.

Perhaps it's time to go back and see what I can do to get rid of
the banding.

I am getting banding printing BO with my Epson C86 + EEM + Epson
Durabrite black ink. Cleaning and alignment cycles did not improve
the prints. I am printing files that have a 500 ppi resolution.

I too observed that MIS EZ prints were neither smoother nor more
detailed than BO prints, rather just cooler. I wonder where I am
doing wrong. I would love to get from somebody on the forum a good
EZ MIS print done according to Paul Roark + a good BO print done
according to Clayton Jones, and try to print the same files myself,
in order to understand where the mistakes are.

I think the major issue is just that C86's exhibit considerable
unit-to-unit variation in their ability to handle BO without banding.

If you'd like to see some samples, send me an e-mail.
