Does anyone have experience using an Epson 300 as a B&W Printer? I did not find much direct info searching the archives. On the MIS site they sell cartridges for the 200/220 and I believe they are roughly the same class of printer. The QuadtoneRip site mentions the R300 but only in conjunction with the Mediastreet Quadblack inks which I do not think are available any longer. Any advice or thoughts on using this printer are welcomed. Thank you. Scott

I believe it's the same printer as the R220 but accepts memory cards directly and has a screen on it. I use the R220 myself with Paul Roark's UTR2 inkset and recommend it. The Epson driver works fine- you don't need QTR. If you go this route, I recommend keeping two of the slots for a warm (vs a neutral) ink as 6 neutral look quite cool to me, especially on glossy paper. You also don't need to buy the whole inkset- buy bottles of photo black (PK), Eboni (MK), one warm and cool dark (magenta or cyan) and one warm and cool light (LC, LM) and that's all you need.
