The message occurs when the OSX system gets an error during processing
the print request.
Unfortunately Print-Tool doesn't get much info when this happens (just
the fact it failed).
The only instance I've seen is due to lack of memory.
Are you trying to print a huge image? or a huge sheet of paper? By
default Print-Tool runs as
a 64-bit program but you can set it to 32-bit which would have
somewhat smaller capabilities.
How much memory is on your system? Try something that is not going to
strain the system.
For diagnostics there's a program called Console in the
Applications/Utilities folder. Run this and
look at the system log / all messages. See if anything is reported
during the time you try Print-Tool.
