Inkjetmall - Hockings - K6 repacement

Inkjetmall - Hockings - K6 repacement

2006-01-30 by Jim Hockings

Wells and others,

I have had a chance to use the new cart you sent me to replace the one
filled incorrectly. I have printed about 200 square inches of photo images
to clean the lines and have cleaned the heads three times to use up more
ink. I think I am getting the new ink on my prints.

I still have a problem. I am using K-6 and the Quadtone RIP on a 7500 with
HPR paper with all the settings on standard: HPR curve, 100% and Gamma 0 and
ink 0. I have studied the RIP instructions thoroughly as well.

When I print a step wedge, all the tones from 40 to 60 (3 blocks in all) are
exactly the same---no separation at all. The rest of the tones are perfectly
separated.

Do you think one of the other inks is still wrong? I have checked the cart
placement three times, once even with you walking me through it on the
telephone. They are properly placed.

What is going on here? A glitch in the RIP?

Thanks.

Hi
I think you need to print quite a bit more than that to clear a line
on a 7500. Why don't you print another 4-5 ft before testing.
Also, just print the calibration pattern and look at it. That should
show you what is going on and if the inks are set up correctly.

Regards
Duane

Jim,

I think the glitch is in the cartridge still. Take a look at your magenta position cart and see
if the lable has the following sub-line: NEU-109-100 or NEU-109-060. The magenta
position should have a sub-line of NEU-109-060 which represents 6% dilution. If it reads
NEU-109-100 then it is a second 10% dilution in the same printer.

Our carts are distributed from a warehouse in New Hampshire. I sent someone out to look
at the inventory there and there are some mistakes in that particular position of K6 ink.

We are contacting everyone on Monday. But please call into InkjetMall in the morning if
you like. We will remedy as best we can as soon as possible.

regards,

Jon Cone

Re: ***SPAM*** [QuadtoneRIP] Re: Inkjetmall - Hockings - K6 repacement

John,

Thanks you for your swift reply..

The cart in the magenta position, (the little magenta ink drop icon that is
the third from left on the 7500) is NEU-109-060-LM, for sure.

Wells sent me a replacement cart for the magenta cart that is in the yellow
position (sixth from the left). That one is NEU-109-060-M.

The carts I have now are, aside from the two mentioned above, K=neu-109-k,
C=neu-109-320-c, LC=neu-109-160-lc,
LM=neu-109-025-y. The references are all to the ink drop icons and read
right to left.

Thanks Jon.

I have work to do on this machine and am eager to get on with it.
