The Quadrature Oscillator is NOT "a Variable Q VCF set to permanently self oscillate." It has its own unique PCB. The Phaser does indeed use the "slow" vactrols as in the old Buchla Quad LP Gate and the Wiard Borg Filter. -Nick Liebrecht

OK to be devils advocate for one minute..... This is getting like Meg Ryan's food ordering in 'When Harry Met Sally'. You either buy in to the Serge philosophy warts and all, or you look elsewhere. There are lots of oscillators that hard sync, not so many with continuous voltage

On the DSG - the subharmonic thing is not similar to hard sync but the sound you get as the DSG tracks the osc you're syncing to is. And yes, I think the PCO/NTO lacking hard sync is unfortunate. There are many ways to achieve hard sync, but I don't know if this can be done to th

It's a bit off topic but you can effect cv's with other cv's using the Extended Range Filter - in the low setting.

Hi, as far as I understood it, all Serge VCAs (2VCA, UAP, XFAD) are only usable for attenuating audio signals, except for the Active Processor ACPR. So is the ACPR the only way in the Serge to attenuate Control Voltages via another Control Voltage? Or am I missing something? And

The earlier phasers didn't have built in feedback, my 6 year old STS model has it. No external mixer needed. You have to patch MIX out back into IN 2 input with a short cord. This setup allows other stuff (like filters, etc) to be inserted into the feedback loop. And the sound is

As far as I know, the 8 ms settling time is a worst case thing for dithering. If what you're doing is using the QTKB to tune the TKB, then you won't have to worry about dithering. You'll set the pitch you want & it'll be in an 'easy' range for the quantizer to interpret. The wors
