Holy Mother of Christ!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else out there own one of these babies..? This has got to be the most underrated filter (and best-kept secret, I guess) on the STS catalogue! All it takes is one measly oscillator fed into it, then get the lopass and variable bw outs into a

A historical breakthrough...200e FS!

2005-06-15 by cuari7

Yes, I'll have the honor of saying I was the first person ever to buy a 200e and then turn around and sell it....well, at least parts of it! It's indeed a beautiful machine but it's way too bulky for my small studio, and since now Don offers smaller racks, I want to scale it down

I was just contacted by a friend of Roger's, about the Serge track, and had a delightful flashback. Roger Powell was Artist-in-Residence for Moog Music, and he was traveling the country doing public demo's. He came to a local town and I bugged my mom to drive me there (I was 15).

Serge Musician's Tape, 1983

Back in the early 80's Serge & Co made a promo tape of various composers using the Serge Modular. A few years ago Blake Wilson had an engineer friend make a dub of this tape onto CD, and it's been in my posession for a while. After much thought & consulting with Rex I've decided

Now that I'm thinking of it, some other modules in the system seem to have "side effects" like phase inversion or respond strangely to cv etc. Maybe we should compile a listing to document the quirks/features of the system. Later! James

xfade as inverter...

2005-05-26 by James Coplin

Probably some (maybe most) here know this but it was news to me so I thought I'd share. The second input on the xfad module inverts the input. This can be annoying when using certain audio or a feature depending on how you exploit it. It is really nice to feed a fairly complex cv
